Research Ethics

Research Ethics at EUB

Ethics is about thoughtfully considering what is right and wrong in the context of the research we undertake. It is a cornerstone of responsible academic practice and reflects our commitment to integrity, respect and accountability.

EUB expects all researchers – faculty, staff and students, to uphold the highest ethical standards in their work. To support this, the university has established a comprehensive ethical review process designed to guide researchers in evaluating the ethical implications of their projects and ensuring that all research conducted under the EUB banner meets rigorous ethical criteria.

Research Ethical Principles

Honesty and Integrity

Researchers at EUB are expected to present their findings truthfully and accurately. This includes a strict commitment to avoiding fabrication, falsification and plagiarism.

Respect for Participants

The dignity, rights and welfare of all research participants are paramount. Researchers must obtain informed consent, maintain confidentiality and take all necessary steps to minimise harm. Respect for individuals is central to ethical research practice.

Transparency and Accountability

EUB promotes openness in research methods, data and findings. Researchers are accountable for their work and are expected to acknowledge and correct errors promptly. All research projects must undergo EUB’s ethical review process, ensuring that risks and ethical considerations are thoroughly evaluated.

Responsible Publication

EUB supports responsible dissemination of research. This includes proper attribution of contributions, avoiding redundant publication and ensuring accessibility to both the academic community and the public. We strive for high-quality, impactful research that contributes meaningfully to knowledge and society.
