With over 5 years of teaching experience, Dr. Salman Almutawa is an Assistant Professor in Economics and Business who graduated from the most academically rigours and research-intensive economics departments within the United Kingdom. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Reading, MA in Economics from the University of Essex and BSc in Economics and Management from the University of London, London School of Economics and Political Sciences. Salman graduated with a distinction in every assessment component, making him a top achiever during his postgraduate studies. This record was successfully maintained by him through achieving another distinction (overall) in his PhD taught module training component. He became a university lecturer at the early age of 24 having previously served as a Lecturer in Economics at the British University of Bahrain and a Lecturer in Economics and Business at the University of Technology Bahrain.
Research and Publications
Dr. Salman’s research interests are in Energy, Financial and International Economics. His focus is devoted towards the economic impacts of cap-and-trade programmes and the usage of time series econometrics to examine stock market returns volatility.
