Student Debate Club

Student Debate Club

The Euro University of Bahrain Student Debate Club was launched in the first semester of the academic year 2024-25 under the auspices of the College of Law.

This club aims to foster essential research and presentation skills among our students. We hosted several engaging meetings to introduce the vibrant world of debating and showcase its many benefits, all with the invaluable support of EUB Student Services and the EUB Student Council.
We were thrilled to welcome around ten enthusiastic students from various colleges who signed up to join us and debated on the following topics:
  1. Should E-sports be recognised as a legitimate sport, and what is the importance of sport as soft power?
  2. Ethicalness of using AI in exams and coursework.
  3. Does the emphasis on learning global languages contribute to the erosion of cultural identity and heritage?
  4. Countries should adopt a four-day working week to improve work-life balance.
  5. The influence of social media on teenagers is predominantly negative.
  6. Climate change is the most pressing issue of our time and requires immediate action.
One of the debates was organised as part of the EUB Digital Month.
Looking ahead, the club will continue to thrive in the upcoming academic year, offering current and new students the opportunity to develop their critical thinking and public speaking skills.

We can’t wait to see how each member grows!
