What are the Entry Requirements for the International Foundation Year?

Bahrain Standard Entry Qualification:

You must have a 75% average or above in the General Secondary Education Certificate in years 10, 11, and 12, or possess equivalent qualifications.

English Language Proficiency:

You must meet one of the following English language qualifications:

  • APTIS: Overall score of at least 140
  • IELTS: Overall band score of 5.5
  • Duolingo: Overall score of at least 95
  • TOEFL: Overall score of 75

Oxford: Overall score of at least 111

What are the Entry Requirements for Direct Entry for an Undergraduate Programme?

Entry Qualification:

You must hold one of the following:

  • A-Levels 
  • An International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • A foundation year certificate (for transfer students only)

English Language Proficiency

For direct entry into one of our undergraduate programmes, you can submit the following English proficiency tests, as long as they have been awarded in the past three years:

  • APTIS: must achieve an overall CEFR score of at least B2 equivalent with at least B2 equivalent in each subcategory.
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English
  • City & Guilds International ESOL 8984 Mastery award
  • Duolingo: must achieve an overall score of at least 105
  • (IELTS) International English Language Testing System: 6 overall, with 5.5 in each sub-test (Academic or General or IELTS Indicator Online Test)
  • English Language Test: 6 overall, with 5.5 in each sub-test
  • Pearson Test of English, Academic: 54 overall, with 54 in Reading and Writing elements.
  • University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES): Business English Certificate, Level 3 only (BEC 3 award)
  • (TOEFL) iBT Test of English as a Foreign Language (including Special Home Edition test): 87 overall, with 21+ in Reading and Writing sub-tests and 19+ in Speaking and Listening sub-tests

What are the tuition fees for EUB?
  • Tuition Fees: 3,750 BHD per semester or 1,875 BHD per instalment, up to four instalments
  • Application Fee: 50 BHD (one-time fee and non-refundable)
  • Registration Fee: 250 BHD (one-time fee)
When can I apply for an EUB programme?

Admission is now open for the academic year 2025/2026. If you’re interested, you can apply directly through our website, talk to us about your next steps, or visit us on campus. We are open Sunday to Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

How will I know I have been accepted to study at EUB?

You will know you have been accepted to study at EUB once our admissions team has reviewed your completed application. Typically, you will receive a conditional Admission Letter via email within 48 hours. If any additional information is needed, you may be contacted during the process.

What is the programme duration at EUB?

IFP: The duration of your study is four (4) years – one (1) year for the foundation programme and three (3) years for the undergraduate degree programme.

Direct Entry: If you have already completed A-Levels or hold an International Baccalaureate (IB), the duration of your undergraduate programme is three (3) years.

Can I transfer my credits to universities abroad?

Yes, you can transfer your credits to a university abroad, provided that they meet the admission requirements of the receiving institution. We advise you to research the specific transfer policies of your desired university and to consult with our academic advisors for support with the process. Gathering necessary documentation such as transcripts and module descriptions will also help you to ensure a smoother transfer.

Can I transfer into EUB from another university?

Yes, EUB considers and accepts transfer students. If you wish to transfer, you should contact the Recruitment, Admissions, and Registration (RAR) office to discuss your specific situation. Your student information will be reviewed individually before any decisions are made.

What is a typical class size at EUB?

We cap our class sizes at 20 students to ensure you experience a dynamic and engaging learning experience.
